Julian McMahon, villain in "Fantastic Four," dies

Actor Julian McMahon , known for playing "Dr. Doom" in the film Fantastic Four (2000) and for his prominent roles in the series Charmed and FBI: Most Wanted, died on July 2 after privately battling cancer.

His death was confirmed by his wife, Kelly McMahon , in a moving statement released by Deadline.

"Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work and his fans. His greatest wish was to bring joy to as many lives as possible. We ask for support at this time so our family can grieve in privacy. And we hope that all those to whom Julian brought joy continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories."

Julian McMahon died in Clearwater, Florida, at the age of 56.
